Bento Boxes, Baby

I was recently shocked to find out that, on average, each school-age child generates 67 pounds of waste a year just by bringing a disposable lunch to school. Yeah, it’s all those disposable plastic baggies, wax paper and other single-use items that make preparing lunch easier, but also create literally tons of waste every year. If you have a child in school – or if you bring your lunch to work – consider packing a waste-free lunch from now on. It’s as simple as getting a cute little bento box and packing it full of your favorite foods. Each little compartment will hold a serving of fruits, veggies, or even last night’s leftovers. If you like this idea, check out the lead-free bento boxes from Laptop Lunches, made right here in California.
